Local Marketers Celebrate Campaign Excellence
The American Marketing Association — Central Virginia Chapter (AMACVA) hosted its annual Excellence In Marketing Awards on Thursday, November 16. The "EMMAs" recognized local organizations for digital and print ads, videos, product package design and other aspects of marketing campaigns.
“We received 32 entries this year, up from 22 last year. This made the awards even more competitive, and there’s a lot of creativity and quality behind these campaigns,” AMACVA President Julia Prince said. “The results showed that they really made a difference in establishing an identity and driving sales for local businesses.”
The winners are:
Marketer of the Year: Janet Driscoll Miller, President and CEO of Marketing Mojo
Janet founded Marketing Mojo, a digital marketing agency in Charlottesville, in 2005 and continues to serve as president and CEO. She leads a staff of 13 people and specializes in search engine optimization and digital advertising. She also speaks at many marketing conferences and is a columnist for the online publication Search Engine Land. Janet also logs over 500 hours a year in community service. She leads two local Girl Scout troops and has taught girls small business skills, SEO, Google Adwords and more. She regularly guest lectures for marketing classes at the University of Virginia and James Madison University, helping college students understand SEO and paid search ads.
