About the Speaker

Lorraine SandersLorraine Sanders is a media entrepreneur, podcast producer and host with a special interest in the intersection of fashion, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and tech. It's a space she coined FEST. Ask her about it, and she'll tell you it's the future of a better, more ethical fashion industry.

Lorraine is the founder of the Spirit of 608 (, whose weekly podcast features candid conversations with women building businesses at the forefront of FEST. The iTunes new & notable podcast has been downloaded nearly 200,000 times. Past guests include Stella & Dot’s Jessica Herrin, The RealReal’s Julie Wainwright, Minted’s Mariam Naficy, Maveron’s Rebecca Kaden and Fashion Revolution’s Orsola de Castro. In early 2017, she launched PressDope by Spirit of 608, a digital PR platform for FEST brands and socially-responsible startups. In her former life as a journalist covering the business of fashion, her work appeared in  Women’s Wear Daily, San Francisco Chronicle,, Women 2.0,, and many others.

She is a graduate of Brown University and has a Masters in Communications from Stanford University. She lives in Charlottesville, VA, with her husband, Brian, and two little people who frequently seem to be the ones in charge.
